Route 21 East of Waynesburg
Project Overview
Located in Franklin Township and Jefferson Township in Greene County – This $4.8 milion project begins at the intersection of Route 21 (Roy E. Furman Highway) and Route 19 (Mt. Morris Road) and proceeds east for approximately 3.5 miles to the intersection Route 21 and Route 2026 (Rolling Meadows Road).
The scope of work will include concrete patching, milling and resurfacing, diamond grinding, high friction surface treatment, signal upgrades, replacing guide rail to current standards, tree trimming, upgrade to ADA ramp, repair of mountable curb, inlet top replacement, replacing delineation and signing.
The project was awarded to Gulisek Construction LLC.
Project Update
09/03/2024 - The contractor is continuing concrete pavement repairs, concrete pavement diamond grinding, and traffic signal upgrades. Road work may occur during daylight hours, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM. The roadway may be limited to one lane, with flagging and stop conditions. No detours of Route 21 will be in place. The road work in this area will continue throughout September and may extend into October, depending on weather and work progress.
07/24/2024 – The contractor has completed asphalt milling and paving and is completing concrete patching work between the I-79/Route 21 interchange and the Route 21/Route 19 intersection. Additional traffic signal upgrades, sign upgrades, and drainage improvement work are also taking place. The I-79 southbound on-ramp at Exit 14 is scheduled to be temporarily closed on July 27, from 12:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Detours for the ramp will be in place and have appropriate signage. Work will continue in these areas until August 2 and will recommence after the Greene County Fair on August 12.
