Project Description
This $11.5 million rehabilitation project of the Crawford Avenue Bridge in the City of Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania will add a shared-use path to the structure, allowing for safe pedestrian and bicycle access. The bridge separates the east and west sides of Connellsville and is a critical component of the community. This project will extend the life of the structure, improve safety, and significantly benefit the needs of the city’s citizens.
Project work is scheduled from January 9 to late 2024.

Project Updates
05/28/2024 – All new steel has been erected. Repairs to abutments and piers are ongoing. Work on structure will shift to installation of deck pans and reinforcement for the bridge deck. Anticipated bridge deck pour is end of June.
Full closure of both Crawford Avenue and Dean Street will remain in place. Water Street will be closed under the bridge as operations dictate.
04/16/24 - All steel has been removed from the bridge. Repairs to abutments and piers are ongoing. Steel Erection scheduled to take place the week of 4/29/2024. Repairs will be made to causeway once water levels have returned to normal.
