Rockdale Road Project

Large pipe under Rockdale Road

Project Overview

This is a project to replace the pipes carry Rockdale Road over Federal Run at the border of Bloomfield and Rockdale townships in Crawford County.

The work area is located on Rockdale Road (Route 1007) approximately 300 feet north of the intersection with Forest Home Road.

The project includes replacing the two deteriorated corrugated pipes with a precast box culvert. A short portion of the roadway will be milled and paved. Shoulder backup work will be done as needed.

The existing structure was constructed in 1988. It is rated in poor condition. Approximately 200 vehicles a day use the bridge, on average.

Work is expected to occur during the 2025 construction season and will last approximately six weeks.

Traffic Impacts

A detour will be required during construction. The proposed 15.8-mile detour route will be posted using Brown Hill Road (Route 1016), Shreve Ridge Road (Route 1039), and Old Meadville Road.
