Resurfacing Project Continues on Routes 44 and 3003 in Lycoming County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a roadway and bridge replacement project continues on Main Street (Route 44) and Main Street/River Road (Route 3003) in both directions in Jersey Shore Borough and Porter, Piatt, and Nippenose townships in Lycoming County.

The week of Monday, October 7, 2024, the contractor, HRI Inc., will begin installing guiderail and curbing as well as placing topsoil and streambed material in and around the box culvert on Main Street (Route 44).  Work will take place during daylight hours. 

Long-Term Closure

  • Route 44 (North Main Street) is now open in both directions at the Jersey Shore Borough / Piatt Township line.
  • All remaining work will be performed under alternating single lane closures with flagging. 

HRI. Inc. is the prime contractor for this $4,992,927 roadway resurfacing project.  Work on this project includes mill and resurface of approximately 1.0 mile of roadway on Routes 44 and 3003 including a portion of the on and off ramps of Route 220 at Main Street, guide rail upgrades, drainage upgrades, sewer line relocation, ADA curb ramps, and pavement markings. Additional work on this project includes bridge replacement, bridge deck repairs, neoprene strip seal glad replacement and epoxy overlay. These bridges span over Lawshe Run, Route 220, and the Susquehanna River.  Work on this project is expected to be completed in late October 2024.

Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, watch for lane changes, and drive with caution through the work zone.
