Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that a resurfacing project continues on Elysburg Road (Route 54) in Rush Township and Riverside Borough Northumberland County.
Starting on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, the contractor HRI, Inc., will begin milling Elysburg Road between Bowden Road (Route 2004) in Rush Township and Sunbury Road (Route 4001) in Riverside Borough. Work on this phase of the project includes milling, resurfacing, and line painting. Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed. Work will be performed Sundays through Thursdays, between the hours of 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution through the work zone.
HRI, Inc., is the prime contractor for this $2.2 million resurfacing project on Elysburg Road between Bowden Road and Sunbury Road. Work this year includes shoulder repairs to Elysburg Road, construction of a retaining wall between the roadway and adjacent railroad track, guide rail upgrade, resurfacing between Bowden Road and Sunbury Road, and line painting. In 2023, the contractor completed roadway resurfacing and sidewalk improvements of Sunbury Road in Riverside Borough.
