Interstate 376 to be Closed in Both Directions near the Route 318 Bridge in Mercer County

06/03/2024

The eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 376 will be closed near the Route 318 bridge in Shenango Township, Mercer County starting at 7:00 PM on June 14 to 5:00 AM on June 17.

Detours will be set up using the on and off ramps on both sides of the bridge at Exit 1C (Route 318, West Middlesex). Drivers should anticipate slowdowns in that area and be alert for stopped traffic on the exits.

Flaggers will be posted on Route 318 near the bridge to assist with minimizing backups and stopping traffic as needed.

The closure is needed to safely place beams for the new bridge to carry Route 318 over the highway. The new bridge will have seven steel beams, each 205 feet in length.

The contractor is Mekis Construction Corporation of Fenelton, PA. The contract cost is $5,145,068.12.
