Public Plans Display for the Route 2101 (Cooney Road) over U.S. Route 22, Cambria County, Bridge Project Set for September 12

08/30/2024

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is developing plans for the Route 2101 (Cooney Road) over U.S. Route 22 Superstructure Replacement Project.

The project will include removal of the existing bridge superstructure including barriers, deck, and beams. It will be replaced with a new superstructure with associated roadway approach work that will raise the bridge to provide the required vertical clearance over U.S. 22. The current plan is for Cooney Road traffic to use a detour during construction to allow the contractor full access to the bridge.

A public meeting and plans display for the project will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the St. Aloysius Community Center located at 7911 Admiral Peary Highway, Cresson, Pa. 16630.

The meeting location is accessible to persons with disabilities. Anyone having special needs or requiring special aid is asked to contact PennDOT prior to the meeting. If you require additional information concerning the meeting, please contact Bruce Schweitzer, PennDOT Project Manager, at (814) 696-7198 or via email at bschweitze@pa.gov.
