Detour Planned for Route 3024 (Railroad Street) Bridge Project in South Fork Borough, Cambria County, Beginning August 14

​The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing the public of a planned detour for Route 3024 (Railroad Street) in South Fork Borough beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 14.

A 5.2-mile detour using Route 219, Route 896 and Route 3024 to navigate around the project site will be in place for a bridge improvement project on Route 3024 (Railroad Street) near the Oak Street intersection in South Fork Borough.

 The first of a two-phase project, the work includes of the removal of a portion of the existing structure and a full-depth reconstruction of the location. The detour is expected to be in place for approximately 24 days.

Following the first phase, the second phase of the project will take place on Route 3024 (Ragers Hill Road) near the intersection of Hillegas Hill Road and includes significant drainage upgrades, including the placement of two new inlet boxes and the installation of a 43- X 68-inch elliptical, reinforced concrete cross-pipe. HRI, Inc. of State College, Pa., is the contractor for the $463,722 project.
