The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today milling operations will start Monday, July 29, 2024, on Route 865 and Route 4043 (Tipton Road) in Bellwood Township, Blair County in preparation for paving work expected to begin in August.
Crews from New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., of New Enterprise, PA, will be milling and doing base repairs on Route 865 and Route 4043 (Tipton Road), and also on Route 4022 (Stadium Drive) later in the week. Paving on all three roadways will take place during the week of August 5 and is expected to be completed by August 9, weather depending.
This work is all part of a larger $727,946.02 improvements project that began in June that includes rebuilding of ADA curb ramps, line painting, and guide rail upgrades. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by the end of August 2024.
Motorists are cautioned to drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for traffic pattern changes and direction from flaggers. Delays of up to 15 minutes may occur.
