Open Air Blasting at American Eagle Paper to Take Place near Interstate 99 in Snyder Township, Blair County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Hardin Industrial Services LLC., of Mariana Florida, will perform open air blasting at American Eagle Paper Mill at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Tyrone, Blair County on Saturday morning, July 27, 2024. The work to implode a chimney at the mill will begin at 10:55 AM and will conclude at 11:05 AM.

To maintain the safety of the travelling public during this time, crews will implement rolling traffic slowdowns along I-99 northbound and southbound from Exit 48 to Exit 52. Minor traffic delays of up to 10 minutes are expected. Motorists are cautioned to drive slowly, eliminate all distractions, and stay alert for traffic pattern changes and direction from flaggers.
