Portion of Route 475 in Huntingdon County to be Closed Through June While Repair Work Completed

05/30/2024

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is implementing a road closure and detour through the month of June as work continues on Route 475 in Springfield Township, Huntingdon County.

The detour will be in effect from Wednesday, June 5 to Friday, July 5 for a 2-mile section of Route 475 between the intersection with T329 (Locke Valley Road) and the intersection with Route 2003 (Fort Littleton Road).

The detour will use Route 2005 (Elliots Run Road), Route 994 (Pogue Road), and Route 2004 (Meadow Gap Road).

PennDOT is currently working to notify the local school districts and their transportation companies, as well as borough and township officials of the traffic restrictions.

The work will include approximately 1,000 feet of slope stabilization, rebuilding of the shoulder, and repairs to provide the proper cross slope, which drains water from the roadway laterally and helps minimize ponding.
