State Route-PA 56 (Johnstown Expressway) Exit and Entrance Ramp Rehabilitation Project Continues with Ramp Closures and a Detour Beginning Monday, May 20

Hollidaysburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing motorists of ramp closures and a detour beginning Monday, May 20 as part of the next phase of the State Route-PA 56 (Johnstown Expressway) Exit and Entrance Ramp Rehabilitation Project in Cambria County.​

From May 20 through May 24, the State Route-PA 56 westbound ramp from U.S. 219 South and the State Route-PA 56 ramp eastbound to U.S. 219 South will be closed. A traffic detour using Solomon Run Road and Galleria Drive will be in place until May 24.

The work represents the next phase of the State Route-PA 56 (Johnstown Expressway) Exit and Entrance Ramp Rehabilitation Project, located in Richland and Stoneycreek townships and the City of Johnstown, which includes rehabilitation of the traveled roadway, replacing and upgrading of existing guiderail and drainage systems and preservation of four structures. Quaker Sales in Johnstown is the general contractor for the two-year, $14.7 million project.​

The previous phase finished on May 17 and included periodic lane closures at several locations on State Route-PA 56 (Johnstown Expressway), Widman Street to Walters Avenue.
