West Span of Market Street Bridge Between City Island and Wormleysburg is Open to Traffic

West span closed last night so support system could be installed for downstream sidewalk

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the detour for the west span of the Market Street Bridge connecting City Island in Dauphin County and Wormleysburg in Cumberland County has been lifted.

The west span of the bridge was closed last night (Friday, October 25) so a support system could be installed for the downstream sidewalk on the bridge. The east span of the bridge connecting the City of Harrisburg with City Island remained open.
