Pavement Preservation Project on Various Routes in South Central PA to Continue on I-83

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a districtwide pavement preservation project is set to continue Sunday night on Interstate 83 in York County.

Weather permitting, work will resume at 9:00 PM Sunday, October 27, on I-83 in York County between mile marker 26 and mile marker 31. The contractor will work from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning Sunday, October 27, through Tuesday, October 29. There will be lane restrictions in both directions of I-83.

Once this work is completed, the contractor will work on I-83 in southern York County between the Pennsylvania-Maryland State Line and Exit 4 (Route 851/Shrewsbury). The contractor will work from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 8. There will be lane restrictions in both directions of I-83.

This project consists of concrete patching, crack sealing and other on call services for sinkhole repair and roadway repairs, along with other miscellaneous construction on various routes in the PennDOT District 8 region consisting of Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the contractor on this $1,510,000 project. All work on this contract is expected to be completed by July 1, 2026.
