Contractor to repaint lines; Thursday set as backup day
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that there will be rolling single lane closures tomorrow on the Route 30 (Wrights Ferry) Bridge spanning the Susquehanna River between Hellam Township in York County and Columbia Borough in Lancaster County, so a contractor can repaint lines on the bridge.
Weather permitting, line painting will be performed from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM tomorrow, Wednesday, December 20. There will be rolling single lane closures in both directions for the application of the paint and to allow for drying time. Thursday, December 21, is the designated backup day.
Line painting will be performed during daylight hours due to cold overnight temperatures.
This work is part of a project that includes improvements to the median barrier and other construction activities.
JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $5,247,787 project. Work is expected to be completed by November 2024.
