PECO to Reduce Northbound Columbus Boulevard to Two Lanes Monday at Penn's Landing for I-95 CAP Construction in Center City

06/28/2024

Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that northbound Columbus Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes at Penn's Landing for approximately two months beginning Monday, July 1, for PECO utility construction, as part of the $329 million Interstate 95 CAP project to replace and expand the covered area over the interstate in Center City Philadelphia.

The restriction will reduce northbound Columbus Boulevard from three-lanes-to-two from Market Street to Dock Street until approximately late August.

The Delaware River Trail also will be impacted, with bicyclists being merged with pedestrians through the area of utility construction.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur on northbound Columbus Boulevard.
