King of Prussia PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge and sign inspections are scheduled on southbound Interstate 95 and in both directions on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, December 11, through Thursday, December 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, moving alternating lane closures are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between the Interstate 76 and the Route 611 interchanges for sign inspection; and
- Tuesday, December 12, through Friday, December 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00, alternating lane closures are scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Enterprise Avenue/Island Avenue and the Essington Avenue/Bartram Avenue interchanges for bridge inspection.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
These inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
