PECO Utility Improvements Scheduled on Several State Highways Across the Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that PECO Energy will be performing utility construction on several state highways in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Chester County
  • Monday, October 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Chesterville Road will be closed and detoured between Creek Road and McKean Drive in Franklin Township. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Chesterville Road, Creek Road, Mercer Mill Road, and Northbank Road. Local access will be maintained up to the work zone; 
  • Monday, October 30, through Friday, November 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between Schoolhouse Road and Onix Drive in East Marlborough Township; and
  • Wednesday, November 1, through Friday, November 3, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, Route 3 (Market Street) will be closed and detoured between High Street and New Street in West Chester Borough. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Church Street, Barnard Street, and High Street. Local access will be maintained up to the work zone. 
Delaware County
  • Monday, October 30, through Wednesday, November 8, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on westbound Route 3 (West Chester Pike) between Golf Road and State Road in Upper Darby Township. 
Montgomery County
  • Saturday, October 28, through Sunday, December 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure including weekends is scheduled on Route 663 (Charlotte Street) between Mervine Street and Kauffman Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township; and
  • Monday, October 30, through Friday, November 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on westbound U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) between Church Road and Argyle Road in Lower Merion Township. 
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through or near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.  

PECO Energy will complete these projects under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
