PennDOT Announces Traffic Pattern Changes for Route 504 Bridge Replacement in Centre County Starting July 29

07/22/2024

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) alerted motorists that traffic will be directed to a temporary roadway at the site of a bridge replacement project on Route 504 (Black Moshannon Road) in Rush Township, Centre County, beginning Monday, July 29. This project will improve safety and ride quality for motorists by improving the overall condition rating of the structure from poor to good.

On Wednesday, July 31, the roadway will be closed for 48 hours, and a detour will be in place. Traffic will follow Route 3032 (Beaver Road), Route 220, Route 3042 (High Street) and Route 322, back to Route 504. This will facilitate the placing of a new box culvert structure to replace the existing bridge on Route 504 spanning One Mile Run Road. Once the concrete structure is in place, motorists will again be routed over the temporary roadway near the work site.

Overall work also includes paving, guide rail installation, the placement of pavement markings, and miscellaneous construction. Francis J. Palo is the contractor on this $1 million project. PennDOT anticipates completion in early August.
