PennDOT's Washington County Maintenance Update – Week of November 18, 2024

Uniontown, PA – Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of November 18. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations. 

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility. 

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 3009 (Sunset Beach Road) in Buffalo Township
    • Road closed. Posted detour:
      • Route 3009 (Sunset Beach Road)
      • Route 40 (Main Street)
      • Route 221 (S Bridge Road)
      • Route 3009 (Cracraft Road) 

Brushing:

  • Route 3021 (Old Brick Road) in West Finley Township 

Crack sealing:

  • Route 88 (Wood Street) in Allenport, California, Charleroi, Elco, Speers, and Stockdale boroughs 

Ditch line cleaning:

  • Route 1020 (Taylor Run Road) in Carroll Township
  • Route 4031 (Atlasburg Road) in Cross Creek Township 

Inlet replacement:

  • Route 1020 (Taylor Run Road) in Carroll Township 

Litter removal:

  • Interstate 70 in Fallowfield and Somerset townships and Speers and Twilight boroughs 

Patching:

  • Route 22 (William Penn Highway) in Hanover, Robinson, and Smith townships 

Paving:

  • Route 40 (National Pike) in Centerville and West Brownsville boroughs 

Rock lining:

  • Route 3011 (Mounts Road) in Buffalo and Canton townships 

Shoulder stabilization:

  • Route 4031 (Atlasburg Road) in Cross Creek Township 

Side dozing:

  • Route 3011 (Mounts Road) in Buffalo Township 

Slide repair:

  • Route 19 (Amity Ridge Road) in Amwell Township 

Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways. 

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts
