​Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that surface improvements and slide repairs are scheduled to begin Monday, July 15, in Washington County.

Weekday, daylight only, rolling single-lane restrictions will be in place on:

• Route 22 (William Penn Highway), nine (9) miles, from west of Route 4007 (Bavington Road) in Smith Township to east of Route 4009 (Bulger Candor Road) in Robinson Township – for joint repair, milling, leveling, wearing, and line striping.
• Route 40 (National Pike) between Grimes Road and Varner Drive in Donegal Township – for minor slide repairs. 

Golden Eagle Construction is conducting the operations as part of a $4.6M project for surface improvements on state roads throughout Washington County.

Restrictions are expected through mid-October. All work depends on weather and operations.

Exercise caution while approaching the work zone. Remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
