Brownsville Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Begins Monday in Fayette County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that Brownsville Avenue is scheduled to close on Monday, July 1, between Route 4003 (Market Street) and Shady Avenue in Brownsville Borough, Fayette County.

Crews from Allison Park Contractors will be replacing the bridge deck that carries Brownsville Avenue over Dunlap Creek. Improvements will allow the superstructure to convey heavier traffic during the Dunlap Creek (Cast Iron) Bridge rehabilitation.

A posted detour will be in place using:

  • Brownsville Avenue.
  • Route 4003 (Market Street).
  • Bank Street.
  • Shady Avenue. 

The closure is anticipated until mid-October. All work depends on weather and operations.

Please remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
