PennDOT's Washington County Maintenance Update -- Week of June 24, 2024

Uniontown, PA – Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 24, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Brushing:

  • Route 221 (South Bridge Road) in Blaine, Buffalo, Morris, and South Franklin townships. 

Ditch/drain cleaning and repair:

  • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township. 

Debris removal:

  • Interstate 70 in Fallowfield and Somerset townships and Speers and Twilight boroughs. 

Mowing:

  • Route 22 Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township.
  • Interstate 70 Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) in the City of Washington.
  • Route 221 (Chestnut Street Extension) in Buffalo Township.
  • Route 519 Park and Ride Ramp 9501 in North Strabane Township.
  • Route 837 Ramp 8025 in Donora Borough. 

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 19 (Amity Ridge Road) in Amwell and South Strabane townships and the City of Washington.
  • Route 2006 (Weaver Run Road) in Amwell Township.
  • Route 2011 (Lone Pine Road) in Amwell and West Bethlehem townships.
  • Route 2020 (Plumsock Road) in Amwell, Morris, and West Bethlehem townships. 

Side dozing:

  • Route 40 (Main Street) in Centerville Borough.
  • Route 2041 (Maiden Street) in Beallsville, Bentleyville, and Ellsworth boroughs. 

Slide repair:

  • Route 2013 (Little Daniels Run Road) in North Bethlehem Township.
  • Route 2026 (Ridge Road) in Centerville Borough. 

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623). 

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
