Route 1034 Athena Drive Pipe Replacement Begins Next Week in Westmoreland County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that Route 1034 (Athena Drive) is scheduled to close Monday, June 17, between Lauffer Mine Road and DeFrances/Stotler Drive in Salem Township, Westmoreland County.

The closure is anticipated through late July to allow district maintenance department forces to replace an elliptical concrete cross pipe. All work depends on weather and operations.

A posted detour will be in place using:

  • Route 1034 (Athena Drive).
  • Route 1061 (Trees Mill Road).
  • Route 22 (William Penn Highway).
  • Route 66 (Sheridan Road).
  • Greensburg/Freeport Street. 

Remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
