Route 4038 Layton Road Bridge Closing Next Tuesday in Fayette County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that the Layton Bridge, which carries Route 4038 (Layton Road) over the Youghiogheny River, is scheduled to close on Tuesday, June 11, between Falbo Road and Circle Street in Perry Township, Fayette County.

Crews from PennDOT will be inspecting span 1 of the bridge. Allison Park Contractors will then begin repairing span 1, performing temporary signal work, conducting rub rail repair to spans 2 and 3, and expansion dam replacement – an infrastructure improvement of $4.3M.

A posted detour will be in place using:

  • Route 4038 (Independence Street).
  • Route 4017 (Liberty Street/Cemetery Road).
  • Route 201 (Flatwoods Road/Main Street).
  • Route 1010 (Dickerson Run Road/Front Street).
  • Route 819 (Dawson Road/Main Street/Second Street).
  • Route 1041 (River Road/School Road).
  • Route 1002 (Banning Road).
  • Route 4038 (Layton Road).

Work is anticipated until late October, depending on weather and operations.
