Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that surface improvement work is scheduled to begin Monday, March 25 in Washington County. Tree trimming, milling, base repair, leveling, wearing and line stripping is expected through the end of June, depending on weather and operations.
Weekday, daylight, single-lane restrictions will be in place from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the following locations:
· Route 40 (National Pike) between Varner Drive and Valley View Road in Claysville Borough.
· Route 88 (Main Street) between First Street and Gearing Road in the City of Monongahela.
· Route 519 (Eighty-Four Road) between Christy Road and Rose Street in North Strabane Township.
· Route 980 (Central Avenue) between Hill Church Road and Pike Street in Canonsburg Borough and North Strabane Township.
· Route 1009 (West Pike Street/Locust Avenue/Morganza Road) between Main Street and O'Hare Road in North and South Strabane townships and the City of Washington.
Golden Eagle Construction Company will be conducting the operations as part of a $11.9 million project for surface improvements on state roads throughout Washington County.
Exercise caution while approaching the work zone. Remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
