Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that overnight single-lane restrictions on Interstate 70 are scheduled to begin next week in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County.
Restrictions will be in place on eastbound and westbound Interstate 70 at Route 201 Interchange (Exit 43), overnights only – from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM – starting Sunday night, December 3 until Friday morning, December 8. There will be no restrictions overnights on Friday, December 8 or Saturday, December 9. Drilling may extend to the following week, beginning Sunday, December 10, depending on weather and operations.
Crews from Armstrong Drilling Company of Murrysville will be drilling geotechnical test borings for sign structure at the Route 201 Interchange.
This work is part of the $85 million Interstate 70 Project involving the widening and reconstruction of Interstate 70 along with the reconstruction of the Arnold City Interchange (Exit 44). The reconstructed interchange will utilize a diamond configuration with a five-leg roundabout that will connect the eastbound ramps with Indian Hill Road and Finley Road. Is is anticipated to be complete in October 2027.
