Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing Interstate 70 single-lane restrictions scheduled for next week in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County.
Tuesday, November 28 to Saturday, December 2:
- Overnights only - 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Westbound Interstate 70.
- Between Exit 44 (Arnold City) and Exits 46A/46B (Route 51).
- Subcontractor Power Contracting will be removing temporary highway lighting.
Wednesday, November 29:
- 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Eastbound and westbound Interstate 70.
- Between Exit 49 (Smithton) and Exits 46A/46B (Route 51).
- Subcontractor Geronimo Painting will be working on the containment on the Matthew Smelser Memorial Bridge.
This work is part of the $120.7 million Interstate 70 at Route 51 Interchange Improvement Project – for its widening, reconstruction, and replacement of Exit 46 with a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). The project also involves several intersecting roadways and the relocation of Finley Road and Route 981. Golden Triangle Construction Company was awarded the contract and work is anticipated to be complete in October 2027.
