Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists that daylight single-lane restrictions in both directions of Route 51 between Concord Lane and Simmons Lane are continuing to occur as needed in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County through the end of October, weather and operational dependent.
The daylight single-lane restrictions are necessary to allow crews to perform work on Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad Bridge, Sanitary Work, Ramp Work, Signal Work and the re-alignment of Finley Road.
This work is part of a $120.6 million project involving the widening and reconstruction of Interstate 70 along with the reconstruction of the Route 51 Interchange (Exit 46) to replace it with a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI). To accommodate the new interchange, the project includes one mile of reconstruction and widening on Route 51. The project involves several intersecting roadways including the relocation of Finley Road and Route 981. Golden Triangle Construction Company was awarded the bid. The project is anticipated to be completed in October 2027.
