Route 551 Pipe Installation Work Starts Monday in Beaver County

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing pipe installation work on Route 551 (Wallace Run Road) in various municipalities in Beaver County will begin Monday, July 29 weather permitting.

Pipe replacement work requiring the closure of a portion of Route 551 between Route 168 and McKinley Road will begin at 8 a.m. Monday.  The roadway will close to traffic around-the-clock though mid-August as crews from Lindy Paving conduct pipe replacement work, concrete endwall installation, and roadway restoration. Traffic will be detoured

Posted Detours

Northbound Route 551

  • Turn left onto McKinley Road

  • Turn right onto Route 51

  • Turn right onto Route 168 (Salem Church Road)

  • Follow Route 168 back to Route 551

  • End detour

Southbound Route 551

  • Same detour in the opposite direction

This work is part of a $5.36 million group paving project that includes milling and paving, drainage upgrades, shoulder repairs, guide rail updates, pavement markings, and other various construction related activities.
