Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Carter Avenue will be closed on November 7, 2024, from 7 AM to 7 PM between Wayne Avenue and 7th Street White Township/Indiana Borough, Indiana County as crews complete ADA work.
Once this work is completed, the road will open to traffic with no additional expected closures. Work is weather dependent.
Wayne Avenue will remail closed and restricted to two 11-foot travel lanes for the duration of construction. As a reminder, there continues to be no left turn onto Hospital Road when travelling south on Wayne Avenue. To detour, motorists will take Wayne Avenue to Pratt Drive to Hospital Road. There is also a pedestrian detour in front of the KCAC. The pedestrian detour will be Wayne Avenue to Prat Drive to Wayne Avenue.
The $11.9 million project is estimated to be completed in fall 2024 by contractor, HRI, Inc. of State College.
