Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that South Main Street (Route 8) will be closed between Jefferson Street and Cunningham Street in the City of Butler, Butler County November 16 and 17, 2024 7 AM to 6 PM each day for crane work.
To detour, Route 8 southbound traffic will turn right onto West Jefferson Street, turn left onto South Washington Street followed by a left turn onto West Cunningham Street. Route 8 northbound traffic will turn right onto East Cunningham Street, turn left onto South McKean Street followed by a left turn onto East Jefferson Street. Detour signs will be provided along the vehicular detour route. Sidewalks will be controlled by flaggers enabling downtown businesses to remain open. The flaggers will stop pedestrians while the crane lifts the items to ensure safety.
