Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Carter Avenue will be closed starting on October 22, 2024, as crews complete drainage and paving through the end of October.
Carter Avenue will be closed between Wayne Avenue and South 7th Street, October 22 through 24 for drainage and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) work. Another closure is scheduled October 28 through October 31 for final paving on Carter Avenue. Work is weather dependent.
Wayne Avenue will remail closed and restricted to two 11-foot travel lanes for the duration of construction.
As a reminder, there continues to be no left turn onto Hospital Road when travelling south on Wayne Avenue. To detour, motorists will take Wayne Avenue to Pratt Drive to Hospital Road.
There is also a pedestrian detour in front of the KCAC. The pedestrian detour will be Wayne Avenue to Prat Drive to Wayne Avenue.
The $11.9 million project is estimated to be completed in fall 2024 by contractor, HRI, Inc. of State College.
