Route 28 Rehabilitation to Begin in Armstrong County

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is announcing a rehabilitation project impacting two structures on of Route 28 in Armstrong County will start on July 8, 2024.

This project covers two structures on Route 28 between Deanville Road and Maple Street.  Rehabilitation of the structures will include the roadway surface and various structural repairs.

Traffic will be controlled with temporary traffic signals with alternating traffic patterns going both north and south.  A width restriction will be in place for both locations.  The width at the Mahoning Furnace structure crossing Mahoning Creek will be restricted to 12-feet.   A width restriction of 15-feet will be in place for the New Bethlehem structure Crossing over Redbank Creek.

Francis J. Palo Construction Inc., of Clarion, PA, is the contractor for this $1.58 million project. All work is weather dependent and is estimated to be completed by the end of September 2024.
