Army SPC Christine L. Mays Bridge on Richmond Road to Close for Resurfacing

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is announcing a resurfacing project for the Army SPC Christine L. Mays Bridge on Route 1041 (Richmond Road) near Rochester Mills in Grant Township, Indiana County.

The bridge will be closed for three days for deck repairs and resurfacing from June 28 through July 1, 2024.  Additional work may extend into the following week with daytime flagging for traffic control.  Work is weather dependent.

To detour from the north, motorists will take Route 1038 (East Creek Road) to Smithport then turn right onto Route 1033 (Logan Road and Gipsy Road).  Remain on this route to Lower Wilgus then turn right onto Route 1034 (Gipsy Road and Nashville Road) towards Rochester Mills. 

The $493,561 project is estimated to be completed in September 2024 by contractor, RAM Construction Services of Michigan, Livonia, MI.
