​In order to complete drainage work in connection with the Bayfront Parkway Improvement Project, there will be daylight closures on Sassafras Street Extension on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11 and 12, 2024.

The street will be closed between the intersection with the Bayfront Parkway and the intersection with Front Street. It will be reopened when work is not active.

During the closures, access to the waterfront businesses on Sassafras Street Extension will be available through the detour posted using State Street and Front Street. 

Following the closure, drainage work will continue along Sassafras Street Extension. Drivers may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.  

Additional lane restrictions and traffic shifts remain in place on the Bayfront Parkway near the intersection of Sassafras Street Extension as construction continues on the future roundabout at that location.
