What do you do as an executive assistant?
My primary role is serving as project manager for special projects within the multimodal deputate. My daily work involves oversight of planning, design, and construction contracts for various multimodal projects involving public transit, passenger rail, and bicycle/pedestrian.
What made you want to work with PennDOT?
My education and earlier career focused on community/land use planning and I was interested in how transportation could intersect to improve overall quality of life for communities.
What is your favorite thing about working at PennDOT?
The variety and challenging aspects of projects that I am involved in. I am always learning something new.
What is something you wish everyone knew about the department?
That there are a lot of great, hardworking people who work for PennDOT, and it takes all types of skill sets from planning, financing, engineering, maintenance, and so on to make it work.
Tell us about your family.
My husband, Mike, and I have been married for 3 ½ years and have a very loyal Rottweiler/Labrador rescue dog, Sarge. We also have a niece and nephew that we love to spoil.
How would someone describe you?
Easygoing.
What do you do when you aren't working?
Traveling and exploring new places, or enjoying the outdoors – hiking, kayaking, fly-fishing, and backpacking.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I am an adventure travel-junkie. My husband and I got engaged underwater while scuba diving in Bonaire.
