 Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) representatives, including PennDOT District 9 District Executive Vince Greenland, District 9 Assistant District Executive for Construction Brad Brumbaugh, and and District 9 Assistant District Executive for Maintenance Dave Kammerer today discussed statewide transportation progress and highlighted this year's active and completed construction projects in Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Huntingdon, and Somerset counties. Work in 2024 included paving approximately 137 miles of roadway, seal coating 375 miles, and repairing or replacing 69 bridges.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is developing plans for a bridge over Miller Run replacement project on Route 1021 (School Road) in Shade Township, Somerset County. For those interested in learning more about this project, a public plans display is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Cairnbrook Elementary School located at 235 McGregor Avenue, Cairnbrook, PA, 15924.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is informing motorists that all closures of State Route 403 (Tire Hill Road) Somerset County, will be lifted at approximately 6 PM tomorrow (Friday, Nov. 8), but work will continue on the route.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that Hardin Industrial Services LLC., of Mariana Florida, will perform open air blasting at American Eagle Paper Mill at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Tyrone, Blair County on Saturday morning, July 27, 2024. The work to implode a chimney at the mill will begin at 10:55 AM and will conclude at 11:05 AM.
