Contractor to set beams on new Centerville Road bridge spanning Route 30
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that beams are scheduled to be set next week on the Centerville Road bridge being constructed over Route 30 in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County. This work will be performed at night and will impact traffic on both Centerville Road and Route 30.
Tuesday, April 2, there will be lane closures on eastbound Route 30 starting at 9:00 PM to remove overhead deck formwork. Work will begin with a right lane closure then switch to a left lane closure. This work is expected to be completed by 6:00 AM Wednesday morning.
Wednesday, April 3, the southbound lane on Centerville Road and the right turn lane on the westbound Route 30 off-ramp will be closed starting at 7:00 PM. The left lane of eastbound Route 30 will close starting at 8:00 PM. Once the lane closures are in place, beams will be set on the eastbound side of the bridge, using rolling stops on Route 30 to perform this work. The rolling stops are expected to start between 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM and continue to approximately 2:00 AM.
