Conestoga Road over Pickering Creek Bridge Replacement
Project Location
Overview
This project is for the replacement of the bridge that carries Conestoga Road (Route 401) over Pickering Creek in West Pikeland Township, Chester County. The existing bridge is a single-span reinforced concrete T-beam bridge that was constructed in 1938. The bridge is posted with weight restrictions and is in overall poor condition.
The proposed construction includes replacing the existing bridge with a slightly longer and wider bridge on the same general alignment as the existing bridge. Related construction includes replacing guide rail and end treatments; resurfacing the pavement on the bridge approaches, and signing and pavement marking installation.
