Route 1002 (Greeley Lake Road) in Lackawaxen Township will be closed through the end of September to replace a pipe between Weber Road and Route 6. A detour will remain in place using Route 6 or Route 590. There will be limited access for local traffic on both sides of the project.

There will be lane restrictions on the Market Street bridge in Kingston, beginning Monday, September 20, 2024 through Friday, September 20, 2024 between 8:00 and 400 PM to conduct bridge inspections. Motorists should take an alternate route when possible, to avoid traffic delays. Work is weather dependent.

There will be a lane restriction on Interstate 81 northbound in Wilkes Barre at Exit 170B (North Cross Valley Expressway/Wilkes Barre) to place a barrier at the exit ramp. Motorists are asked to reduce speed and be alert in the work zone. Work will take place on Monday, September 9, 2024, beginning at 8:00 PM and ending at approximately 6:00 AM on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. The barrier will remain in place through the end of the year.

Route 2002 (Main Street) between Market Street and North Walnut Street in Nanticoke will be closed beginning Monday, September 9, 2024, through Friday, September 13, 2024, as part of the ongoing Nanticoke Streetscaping project. There is a local detour utilizing Market Street and North Walnut Street. Motorists should expect delays and take an alternate route if possible.

Route 632 (Carbondale Road) in Waverly Township, Lackawanna County was closed on Friday, June 7, 2024, for a box culvert replacement project and was due to reopen in August 2024. Due to two flooding events and utility relocation, the road will remain closed and the approximate reopening is the fall of 2024. The detour can be found below.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to a plans display regarding the Route 3016, Section SLD, Slope and Pavement Repair Project. This plans display will be held online, and plans will be displayed for public viewing (while following all COVID-19 safety protocols) at the Black Creek Township municipal building.

There will be lane restrictions on Interstate 380 northbound and southbound to perform shoulder cutting between Exit 13 (Gouldsboro) to Exit 24 (Fallen Trooper Memorial Highway/Milford) between Wednesday, September 4, 2024, through Saturday, September 14, 2024, between 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily.​

PennDOT will remove loose bridge components, install warning signs and buoys upstream and downstream of the bridge, and install temporary protective netting to the superstructure as part of an Aids to Navigation Plan (ATON) for the restriction of the navigable waterway under the Skinners Falls bridge located on Route 1002 in Damascus Township, Wayne County. An ATON plan has been created to show the placement of warning signs and buoys to allow for safe passage of boaters within the vicinity of the bridge. Work will continue through the fall of 2024.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Interstate 81 Section 316 Ashley to Arena Project. An Environmental Assessment (EA) was prepared for the project and shared with the public for review and comment from March 11 through April 12, 2024.​

Interstate 81 southbound is closed beginning at Exit 164 (Nanticoke) due to a multi-vehicle crash. The estimated time of reopening is 10:30 AM.
