Layton Bridge Daylight Inspection and Maintenance Next Week

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that crews will be performing regularly scheduled inspection and maintenance on the Layton Bridge, which carries Route 4038 (Layton Road) over the Youghiogheny River in Perry Township, Fayette County.

The bridge will to be closed to traffic, depending on weather and operations, from:

  • Tuesday, December 26 to Friday, December 29.
  • 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, daily.
  • Carocci Road/Tunnel Road (T-763) to Hazelbaker Recreational Services.

The bridge will be open over nights.

A marked detour will be in place using:

  • Route 1002 (Banning Layton Road/Dawson Road) to
  • Route 1041 (Cunningham School Road) to
  • Route 819, Route 1010 (Front Street/Dickerson Run Road) to
  • Route 201 to
  • Route 4017 (Cemetery Road). 

Remain alert and follow the posted signs and speed limits. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
