Route 1014 over MaGee Run (Torrance Bridge Preservation)
Project Overview
The purpose of this project is to correct the structural deficiencies of the bridge deck and to provide a safe and efficient crossing of Torrance Road over MaGee Run in Derry Township, Westmoreland County. The existing structure was built in 1952 and has an estimated ADT of roughly 2,624 vehicles with 17% truck traffic. The current structure is in poor condition due to existing deck deterioration. The scope of work for the project consists of repair of bridge deck, new asphalt overlay and other miscellaneous construction.
The project is currently in Final Design. Construction letting is anticipated in December 2024 with construction during the spring and summer 2025. There will be minor roadway work and traffic will be maintained during construction by use of a temporary signal.
