PennDOT has a great opportunity for local governments, regional transportation authorities, transit agencies, school districts and other project sponsors to take advantage of $18 million in Transportation Set-Aside funding.
The Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) provides funding for projects and activities defined as transportation alternatives, including on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities, and environmental mitigation, trails that serve a transportation purpose, and non-infrastructure projects such as bicycle and pedestrian education.
Project sponsors must have a pre-application meeting with their PennDOT Engineering District and Planning Partner TASA contacts to discuss their project application, project requirements, eligibility, PennDOT policies, and regulations
Pre-applications are due August 16 at 4:00 p.m. with final applications due October 15 at 4:00 p.m.
Note that TASA is not a grant program and no money is provided up front.
